S.-PETERSBURG, April 13 – RIA Novosti. The firefighter, who died while extinguishing a fire at the Nevskaya Manufactory in St. Petersburg, was one of the first to arrive at the scene, said the head of the city GUMChS Aleksey Anikin.
“A young guy, 10 years of service with him, a resident of the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg. Two injured guys – the deputy head of the unit and the squad leader, they are also residents of the Nevsky district. They arrived first, did not flinch, stood to death,” he said.
Anikin noted that all employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations fulfilled the assigned tasks, the spread of fire was stopped.
“The guys worked as they should, no one left the combat post, everyone fulfilled the assigned task. And only by this fusion of the technical equipment of the service and the heroism of our firefighters, we managed to stop the spread of the flame,” he said.
A fire in the building of the “Nevskaya Manufaktura” factory broke out on Monday. The fire engulfed all six floors of the production building built in 1861. The fire was localized on an area of 10 thousand square meters at 22.22 Moscow time, at 23.27 the fire rank was downgraded.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, three firefighters were injured during the extinguishing, two of them are on mechanical ventilation, one person died. According to the Ministry of Health, five people were injured, one died.
