LUGANSK, April 9 – RIA Novosti. Ukrainian security forces violated the ceasefire three times over the past day, firing at the territory of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, told RIA Novosti at the LPR office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC).
Earlier, the representative office of the LPR in the JCCC stated that on April 7, the Ukrainian security forces violated the silence regime once.
“Over the past day, on April 8, three violations of the ceasefire regime were recorded,” the LPR representative said.
According to the LPR office in the JCCC, Ukrainian security forces fired from 120 and 82 mm mortars and grenade launchers at the republic-controlled settlements of Nizhnee Lozovoe, Kalinovka and Molodezhnoe.
“Information about the victims among the civilian population and the destruction is being specified,” added a representative of the LPR in the JCCC.
Earlier, additional measures to ensure a ceasefire came into effect in the Donbass.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the coup d'etat in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13 thousand people became victims of the conflict.
The issue of resolving the situation in Donbass is being discussed, in particular, during the meetings in Minsk of the contact group, which since September 2014 has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict. However, even after the armistice agreements between the parties to the conflict, shootings continue.
