SAMARA, April 8 – RIA Novosti. There were no serious cases of air pollution in the Samara region, said the head of the center for environmental monitoring of the Volga UGMS Irina Usatova.
Earlier, the international audit and consulting network FinExpertiza published a study according to which the number of incidents of high and extremely high air pollution in 2020 in Russia was the maximum in 16 years. According to analysts, 144 cases of high pollution and three cases of extremely high pollution occurred in the Samara region.
“Recently, not a single serious case of air pollution has been recorded in the Samara region. The level of pollution in the cities of the Samara region, where monitoring is carried out, remained at the level of last year. We have 10 cities. Only in Samara there was an increased level. pollution is low, “the press service of the regional government quotes Usatova as saying.
According to the data of the Privolzhsky UGMS, an excess of the MPC level last year was recorded only once in the Kuibyshevsky district of Samara. “In the summer months in the Kuibyshevsky district, at the automatic station, hydrogen sulfide concentrations exceeding the MPC standards were recorded. This excess was of a local nature and concerned only the Kuibyshevsky district. And it is incorrect to talk about the pollution of Samara on the basis of data for one district,” Usatova emphasized.
