LUGANSK, April 7 – RIA Novosti. A resident of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic was blown up by an unidentified explosive device on the banks of the Seversky Donets River near the LPR-controlled village of Zheltoye in Donbass, the press service of the LPR People's Militia told reporters.
Earlier in the LPR, he said that one teenager was killed, one was wounded in a mine explosion on the banks of the Seversky Donets near the line of contact in the LPR. The People's Militia of the LPR accused Kiev of remote mining of the LPR territories along the bank of the Seversky Donets, along which the contact line passes in certain areas.
“Despite the current ceasefire, civilians continue to suffer from Ukrainian aggression. Another case of a civilian being blown up by an explosive device has been recorded,” a spokesman for the press service said.
According to the People's Militia of the LPR, a man born in 1964, wanting to shorten the path, walked along the bank of the Seversky Donets River near the republic-controlled village of Zheltoye and was blown up by an unidentified explosive device. A spokesman for the press service said that the man with severe shrapnel wounds was taken to the Republican Emergency Center.
“According to preliminary data, an explosive device set off by the fighters of the 80th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine went off,” said a spokesman for the defense ministry.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the coup d'etat in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13 thousand people became victims of the conflict.
The issue of resolving the situation in Donbass is being discussed, inter alia, during the meetings in Minsk of the contact group, which since September 2014 has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict. However, even after the armistice agreements between the parties to the conflict, shootings continue.
