MOSCOW, April 5 – RIA Novosti. Vaccination against coronavirus of patients with cancer is not only possible, but also necessary, but before vaccination you need to consult with your doctor, said Andrei Kaprin, director of the Herzen National Medical Research Center of Radiology, chief freelance oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
“Not only possible, but also necessary,” said Caprin, answering a related question at the Man and Medicine congress.
He noted that before vaccination against coronavirus, one should consult with the attending physician; in difficult cases, specialists from the Herzen National Medical Research Center of Radiology are ready to conduct telemedicine consultations.
In August 2020, the Ministry of Health of Russia registered the world's first vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19, developed by the Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry. It was named “Sputnik V”. Also in Russia, two more vaccines against COVID-19 have been created – this is a vaccine from the Vector Center of Rospotrebnadzor EpiVacCorona and the KoviVac vaccine developed by the Chumakov Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
