BLAGOVESCHENSK, April 3 – RIA Novosti. The patient, who was operated on on Friday during a fire in the cardiac surgery center of Blagoveshchensk, is conscious, but in serious condition, the Ministry of Health of the Amur Region said.
Together with him, several more people were transported to the Amur Regional Clinical Hospital.
“Fourteen people are in a state of moderate severity, two in a serious one, including a patient operated on during a fire, his postoperative period is smooth, without complications, he is conscious,” the department said.
On Friday afternoon in Blagoveshchensk, the roof of the two-story cardiac surgery clinic of the Amur State Medical Academy built in 1908 caught fire, the area of the fire was 1.6 thousand square meters. Soon it was liquidated, no one was hurt.
Despite the emergency, doctors continued to operate on the patient. The operation – coronary artery bypass grafting – was completed successfully, after which the man was taken to the Amur Regional Clinical Hospital.
The governor of the region Vasily Orlov ordered to award doctors and firefighters.
