PARIS, April 3 – RIA Novosti. Two more people have died in France due to thrombosis following a coronavirus vaccination with a drug from AstraZeneca, according to the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines (ANSM).
In France, from March 19 to 25, three cases of thrombosis were detected after vaccination with the drug from AstraZeneca, two cases were fatal, the report said. It is noted that we are talking about “atypical in their localization deep vein thrombosis, which may be associated with thrombocytopenia (deficiency of platelets in the blood) or coagulation disorders.”
In total, 12 cases of thrombosis have been recorded in France since the start of the campaign to vaccinate the population against coronavirus infection. Four of them were fatal.
Currently, some EU countries have suspended vaccination with AstraZeneca due to the reported thromboembolic complications in those vaccinated. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is investigating the incidents, but so far considers it possible to continue vaccination.
