MOSCOW, April 2 – RIA Novosti. The classic of literature Nikolai Gogol is a Ukrainian writer, although “Russian propaganda” forced him to be “Russian”. This opinion was expressed in his Telegram channel by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko.
“Even in Ukraine, his works are sometimes shown in the” zarubezhka “program. The Ukrainian Gogol, who was born in the Poltava region, was forcibly recorded in Russians. And only because he wrote in Russian.”
According to Tkachenko, Gogol was Ukrainian by nationality, despite the fact that he lived most of his life in St. Petersburg.
Officials in Kiev often make dubious statements about historical facts. In particular, the ex-Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin said about the “Ukrainian origin” of Russia and Belarus. Former President Petro Poroshenko, in turn, called the founding of Moscow “a rash decision of the Kiev princes.”
