BEIJING, April 2 – RIA Novosti. Four people were killed and 23 more injured in a passenger train crash in Taiwan, the country's Central News Agency reported.
The incident occurred at about 9.00 local time (4.00 Moscow time) in Huayalian county in the Daqing tunnel. The train consisted of eight carriages for 350 passengers.
As a result of the accident, the second and third carriages derailed.
In total, 60 people have already been freed from the first three carriages, the fourth and fifth carriages are badly damaged, a rescue operation is underway.
The agency, citing emergency services, reports that, according to “preliminary data, there are many people at the scene of the accident with no signs of life.”
