MOSCOW, April 1 – RIA Novosti. Access to a wallet with digital rubles will be possible through various financial intermediaries – this will help fight “payment slavery” when customer service is tied to one credit institution, said Ivan Zimin, director of the financial technology department of the Bank of Russia.
“Access to a digital wallet can be carried out through different financial intermediaries – that is, of course, an organization, an individual or a legal entity will not be tied only to the credit institution that initially opened the wallet for him. it will be possible to get into your own wallet, but through another organization, “Zimin said, speaking at an expanded meeting of the RSPP commission on banks and banking.
“In our opinion, this really increases accessibility, reduces, let's call it,” payment slavery “, when many clients are tied to the structure of one organization and cannot receive a full range of services and move to other institutions,” he added.
The Bank of Russia presented the idea of the digital ruble in mid-October last year. It is assumed that it will be in the form of a unique digital code, which is stored in a special electronic wallet, and will be a full-fledged means of payment along with a regular ruble. The concept of the digital ruble is planned to be presented to the public in April this year.
