MOSCOW, April 1 – RIA Novosti. Panama has registered Russia's Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, becoming the 59th country to approve the drug, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said.
“RDIF announces the registration of the Russian vaccine against the Sputnik V coronavirus in the Republic of Panama. Thus, the Sputnik V vaccine has been approved in 59 countries with a total population of over 1.5 billion people. Registration of the drug has been carried out under an accelerated procedure,” they said in the fund.
Sputnik V ranks second in the world in terms of the number of approvals received by government regulators.
“The decision of Panama's regulatory authorities to approve the Sputnik V vaccine will provide the country's population with access to a safe and effective Russian vaccine. Sputnik V is recognized around the world and is one of the leading vaccines to combat coronavirus and overcome the pandemic,” said the head of RDIF Kirill Dmitriev.
