VLADIVOSTOK, March 16 – RIA Novosti. Aftershocks occur after a powerful earthquake in Kamchatka, the magnitude of the strongest of which is 5.4, the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences told RIA Novosti.
According to the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka, 183 kilometers from the village of Nikolskoye. The epicenter was at a depth of 61 kilometers. It was felt by the inhabitants of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Klyuchi and Ust-Kamchatsk.
“There are new earthquakes, including five strong, the strongest of them with a magnitude of 5.4, it (residents) did not feel,” – said the agency's interlocutor.
According to him, there were also several small aftershocks after the 6.5 earthquake.
