MOSCOW, 17 Mar – RIA Novosti. The United States may announce next week that it will impose sanctions on Russia for allegedly interfering in the 2020 US elections, CNN reports, citing State Department sources.
Details on future sanctions were not disclosed. At the same time, the TV channel notes that the sanctions, in addition to Russia, will affect China and Iran.
Earlier, the press secretary of the US President Jen Psaki did not begin to say when sanctions against the Russian Federation for “interference” might follow. A US intelligence report that credited Moscow with trying to influence the outcome of the 2020 US elections announced the adoption of appropriate sanctions.
Russia has repeatedly denied allegations of election interference in the past.
