MOSCOW, 15 March – RIA Novosti. Alexei Karnaukhov, a climatologist and senior researcher at the Pushchino Scientific Center for Biological Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told the Moscow 24 TV channel that climatic anomalies will change the life of Muscovites.
According to the expert, in the near future, residents of the capital will have to change their wardrobe due to global warming.
“In the next 10-20 years, most likely there will be global warming. It will be small and smooth, and also characterized by temperature changes. We must be prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions. Therefore, clothing should be more versatile: suitable for rain at the same time, snow, wind and blizzards, “- said Karnaukhov.
The climatologist noted that over the past decades, the climate has already changed, and Muscovites are forced to adjust their wardrobe to these changes. So, due to the alternation of climatic phenomena, when frost and abnormal snowfall are replaced by a thaw, residents of the city are forced to wear waterproof shoes. Also, now, unlike past generations, Muscovites use an umbrella in winter.
In addition, climate change will affect the summer period, which, in turn, will also affect clothing. “In the summer, we must be prepared for the abnormal heat, as it was in 2010. The heat of 25-40 degrees in Moscow is quite real. , which, on the one hand, breathes, and on the other, does not get wet, for example, with membranes, “Karnaukhov noted.
The expert also added that “Moscow is an additional heat island” because of its heating system.
