KIEV, 14 Mar – RIA Novosti. Ukrainian border guards announced the detention of two citizens of Russia and Belarus, who illegally crossed the border bypassing the checkpoint, the press service of the State Border Service of the country reported on Sunday.

“The border guards of the Lutsk detachment detained two men who illegally entered the territory of Ukraine from Belarus. Two unknown persons who were moving from the Ukrainian-Belarusian border were noticed by the border guard of the Svityaz department near the Pishcha checkpoint. The border guards immediately detained the pedestrians and found out that one of them is a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, the other is a citizen of the Russian Federation, “the statement on the agency's website says.

It is noted that the detainees had passports with them, but they decided to cross the state border in an illegal way. “In addition, the detainees confessed that in the future they planned to continue their journey to the EU countries – also illegally,” the border service added.
