PYATIGORSK, 14 Mar – RIA Novosti. The Industrial District Court of Stavropol has arrested the deputy chairman of the regional government, Alexander Zolotarev, who is suspected of taking bribes on an especially large scale, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the region reported.
The official was detained on March 12 at the Stavropol airport, investigators are sure that he was going to hide.
According to the investigation, in December 2017, Zolotarev, in collusion with Alexei Kogarlytsky, who then worked as the first deputy minister of construction and architecture of the Stavropol Territory, received 2.5 million rubles from an unspecified company for patronage under a state contract for the construction of a new building of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital in Stavropol.
In 2018, a representative of the same legal entity transferred 15.5 million rubles to officials, this time it was about the construction of a medical and diagnostic building of the Regional Clinical Cardiological Dispensary.
In 2019, Zolotarev and Kogarlytsky received from this company more than 45 million rubles for patronage under a state contract for the construction of a medical and diagnostic building of the Stavropol Regional Clinical Oncological Dispensary.
The total amount of bribes, according to the investigation, exceeded 60 million rubles.
Kogarlytsky was arrested in November 2019.
