MOSCOW, March 14 – RIA Novosti. Senator Oleksiy Pushkov in Telegram assessed the statement of the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass and the ex-President of the country Leonid Kravchuk about the possible start of a full-scale military conflict in the east of the country.
Earlier, the Ukrainian politician on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel did not rule out such a scenario and expressed the opinion that the United States should participate in the negotiations on the settlement.
“Kravchuk, you see, does not exclude … And where will the large-scale conflict come from, if not from Kiev? It will not arise by itself. And why do we need the United States? To play on the side of Kiev, “ Pushkov wrote.
The senator recalled that Washington had already had a special envoy on the conflict in eastern Ukraine, but he had never visited the regions not controlled by official Kiev. And it is the participation of the United States that can lead to an aggravation of the situation, the parliamentarian believes.
“The United States is not capable of helping to resolve the conflict – they can only warm it up. Therefore, they must be kept aside from all negotiations,” Pushkov concluded.
