YAKUTSK, 14 Mar – RIA Novosti. Eight people were injured in the collision of a minibus with a heavy truck on the Vilyui highway in Yakutia, the press service of the traffic police department in the republic reports.
According to the department, the message about the accident was received on Sunday at about 10:00 (local time).
At the 791st kilometer of the Vilyui highway, the driver of a heavy-duty truck traveling from the town of Nyurba towards the village of Antonovka, having passed the required turn, stopped on the carriageway, waiting for the cars to pass in order to return and continue in the right direction. According to the driver, he turned on the hazard warning lights. At that moment, a Toyota Hiacе car, following in the same direction, collided with a stationary car. “The driver of the minibus was born in 1967, and there were nine passengers in the cabin, including two children born in 2017 and 2020. As a result of the collision eight people received injuries of varying severity – seven passengers and a minibus driver. The latter is in critical condition in intensive care, “the press service said.
It is noted that by a happy coincidence, only the smallest passengers remained unharmed. The children were wearing seat belts and were in special restraints.
It was established that the driver of the minibus drove with a license that expired in 2007, and he also did not have a license for passenger transportation. In turn, the driver of the heavy truck at the time of the accident was in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
Upon the fact of the accident, an inspection is carried out, which will establish all the circumstances and causes of the accident.
