ALMA-ATA, March 13 – RIA Novosti. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed condolences to the families and friends of those killed in the crash of a military plane in Almaty and ordered to start an investigation into the causes of the disaster.

Earlier, the press service of the Alma-Ata airport reported that the An-26 aircraft, presumably belonging to the Border Service of the National Security Committee (KNB) of Kazakhstan, crashed while landing at the Alma-Ata airport. There were six people on board. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, four people died at the crash site, two were hospitalized. According to the Alma-Ata health department, the victims are in intensive care. “I express my condolences to the families and friends of the servicemen killed during the plane crash at the Almaty airport. I wish the injured people a speedy recovery. On my instructions, work has begun to clarify the causes of the plane crash. Such incidents should not be repeated.” , – wrote Tokaev on Twitter.

Akim (mayor) of Alma-Ata Bakytzhan Sagintayev said on Twitter that he had left for the crash site of An-26. “I instructed the relevant services to carry out the elimination of the consequences of the incident. My condolences to the families and friends of the victims. All the necessary medical assistance is provided to the injured,” he added.
