Yashin confirmed to RIA Novosti the fact of his arrest. “We are still standing at the hotel (Izmailovo, where the forum is being held. – Ed. Note),” he said, adding that the reason for the detention had not yet been explained to him.
Coordinator of the United Democrats (a project of the interregional public organization Open Petersburg *) Anastasia Burakova told RIA Novosti that a forum was held at the Izmailovo Delta Hotel, which brought together municipal deputies from all over Russia to discuss the strategy for the next electoral cycle and share experience with each other.
“Everyone was detained who took part both as a listener and as a speaker. The reason was not named. While everyone was taken out into the street, they are standing near the hotel,” she said.
