MOSCOW, March 13 – RIA Novosti. Director of the Gamaleya Center Alexander Gintsburg said that the center is working on a new generation of drugs aimed at overcoming antibiotic resistance.
According to him, the problem of antibiotic resistance (resistance of infectious agents to antibiotics) is one of the most important today. For ten years, the center has been developing approaches to create chemical compounds that do not induce the formation of resistance to themselves, but suppress a wide range of pathogens of nosocomial infections. The development has reached the third stage of clinical trials.
“This is the next de facto generation of drugs aimed at overcoming antibiotic resistance, which comes on us from all sides,” Gintsburg said on the YouTube channel “Solovyov Live”.
