MOSCOW, March 13 – RIA Novosti. Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov spoke on the air of the radio station “Moscow Says” about the situation with pensions in Kiev and Moscow.
According to him, the average Ukrainian pension is about three times lower than the average Russian one. “But there was a period when our average salary was higher than in Russia, and the average pension was higher than in Russia. And this period was quite recently , only seven or eight years ago, “Azarov complained.
Also, the Ukrainian politician expressed the opinion that today's Ukraine is the poorest country in Europe “in absolutely all respects,” although, as the ex-minister noted, Moldova and Albania were previously considered such. “This is a country in which the birth rate is two and a half times less than the death rate. And the death rate after the coup increased by 155 thousand people a year. This is a lot, it is a city that dies out every year. It's an average Ukrainian city, it just dies out,” approved by the politician.
Azarov came to the conclusion that after the Maidan the fate of the country turned out to be “very unenviable.”
