Deputy head of the government of Stavropol detained on suspicion of bribery

PYATIGORSK, 12 Mar – RIA Novosti. Investigators detained the deputy chairman of the regional government Alexander Zolotarev at the airport in Stavropol, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the region reported.

The man is suspected of accepting bribes on an especially large scale, a criminal case has been opened.

It is noted that the official tried to escape.

According to the investigation, in December 2017, Zolotarev, in collusion with Alexei Kogarlytsky, who then worked as the first deputy minister of construction and architecture of the Stavropol Territory, received 2.5 million rubles from an unspecified company for patronage under a state contract for the construction of a new building of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital in Stavropol.

In 2018, a representative of the same legal entity transferred 15.5 million rubles to officials, this time it was about the construction of a medical and diagnostic building of the Regional Clinical Cardiological Dispensary.

In 2019, Zolotarev and Kogarlytsky received from the same company more than 45 million rubles for patronage under a state contract for the construction of a medical and diagnostic building of the Stavropol Regional Clinical Oncological Dispensary.

The total amount of bribes, according to the investigation, exceeded 60 million rubles.

The Investigative Committee is going to ask the court to arrest Zolotarev. Now investigative actions are being carried out with him.

Ex-Minister Kogarlytsky was arrested in November 2019. He appears in seven criminal cases opened under articles on abuse of office, taking bribes in the form of a Porsche Cayenne S car (worth 7.8 million rubles) and money in the amount of 34 million rubles, under the article on abuse of power for 1.7 million rubles with construction of a children's hospital, as well as for taking a bribe of 15.5 million rubles.
