MOSCOW, 11 Mar – RIA Novosti. Russian politicians commented on the words of the Minister for the “temporarily occupied” territories of Ukraine Alexei Reznikov that Moscow “does not need” Donbass. Read more in the material of RIA Novosti.
As the Ukrainian official said earlier, he does not believe that the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR can become part of Russia. In his opinion, this is economically disadvantageous for Moscow. He called Donbass a bargaining chip for Russia – allegedly Moscow wants to give it up, but on its own terms, and the Russians do not perceive the population of Donbass as their fellow citizens.
According to a member of the Federation Council from Crimea, Sergei Tsekov, in Kiev they cannot understand that many Ukrainians have not come to terms with the events of 2014 in the country, as well as with the policies of ex-President Petro Poroshenko and current head of state Volodymyr Zelensky.
“They do not understand their citizens at all, especially those who have already become citizens of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics,” the senator said in a comment to the NSN .
According to Tsekov, in Kiev they do not hear the residents of Donbass, do not consider them to be people and come up with laws according to which they will be repressed if the region is returned under the control of the Ukrainian authorities.
The senator stressed that only direct negotiations between Kiev and Donetsk and Lugansk can resolve the conflict.
“In this case, a direct dialogue would begin, taking into account the interests of the residents of Donbass,” he explained.
Tsekov clarified that he means the political, economic and social rights of the inhabitants of the region. At the same time, he drew attention to the intractability of the Kiev authorities, who chose the line of accusing Russia of oppressing the Ukrainians.
“According to Kiev, during the construction of an independent republic, it was necessary, first of all, to get rid of everything Russian, Russian. In the process of such a 30-year” liberation “, the Nazis came to power today,” the parliamentarian continued and stressed that such a policy led to backwardness of Ukraine.
In turn, Elena Panina, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, in an interview with RIA Novosti, said that with her statement the Ukrainian minister was trying to intimidate and demoralize the residents of Donbass.
“Especially cynical is the statement of the Ukrainian minister that the Russians, they say,” do not perceive the population of Donbass as their citizens, “the deputy said.
She is confident that Russia is doing everything to help people who have become victims of military and economic genocide.
As Panina said, the only conditions on which Russia “gives Donbass” to Kiev are the Minsk agreements, but Kiev refuses to comply with them. She stressed that only this document allows the reintegration of Donbass into the political space of Ukraine.
As noted by State Duma Deputy Viktor Vodolatsky, the Kiev authorities openly declare that they are ready only by force to establish “their own rules” in the south-east of Ukraine. In an interview with the Duma TV channel, the parliamentarian stressed that Kiev is completely under external control and is carrying out instructions received from the State Department and various foreign advisers in Ukrainian departments and enterprises.
“For the further implementation of the roadmap that is prescribed for them, they have one desire – to quickly continue, only in a more intense mode, the civil war and destroy the Russian world that exists today on the territory of the LPR and DPR,” the deputy summed up.
The conflict in Donbass has been going on for seven years, about 13 thousand people have become victims. The settlement is being discussed at the meetings of the contact group in Minsk. The parties have adopted several documents aimed at de-escalation, but shootings continue.
Since February, the situation began to deteriorate: there was an attempt on the life of the battalion commander of the People's Militia of the DPR, Ukrainian security forces fired mortars at Gorlovka and the outskirts of Donetsk, and the fighting intensified.
The self-proclaimed republics believe that a large-scale offensive is being prepared in Kiev, pulling new forces to the line of contact. In recent days, videos from different Ukrainian regions have been published on social networks, showing trains with military equipment.
