Moscow City Duma deputy Mitrokhin was detained for participating in an illegal action

MOSCOW, 12 Mar – RIA Novosti. Deputy of the Moscow City Duma from the Yabloko faction Sergei Mitrokhin was detained in Moscow for participating in an uncoordinated action, Mitrokhin himself told RIA Novosti about this.

“I was detained for taking part in the action on January 23. I am at the Department of Internal Affairs for the Tverskoy District. I am writing an explanation,” he said.

Uncoordinated protests took place on January 23 in different cities of Russia and continued on the 31st, despite numerous warnings from the authorities, and on February 2 after the court's decision on Alexei Navalny. As RIA Novosti was told in the press service of the Moscow City Court, the capital's courts from January 23 to February 2 registered 4908 cases related to illegal actions, 972 people received administrative arrests, 1232 – fines.
