Third case opened in Krasnoyarsk after mass poisoning in schools

KRASNOYARSK, 11 Mar – RIA Novosti. Another criminal case has been opened in Krasnoyarsk after the mass poisoning of schoolchildren, the press service of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Prosecutor's Office reports.

According to the updated information of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, from February 18 to March 3, 114 cases of yersiniosis among students aged 7 to 14 were recorded in 27 schools in Krasnoyarsk. To date, 24 children remain in medical institutions, all the rest have been discharged. In all educational institutions, the preparation of dishes from raw vegetables and fruits without heat treatment has been suspended. Earlier, two criminal cases were initiated on violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules and the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements. After the mass poisoning of schoolchildren, the court suspended for 85 days the activities of the Krasnoyarsk enterprises “Alenushka”, where traces of rodents were found during the inspection, and “Respect”.

“In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, based on the materials of the prosecutor's check, a criminal case has been initiated on negligence in connection with the illness of schoolchildren,” the message says.

The department explained that the case was initiated on the fact of poisoning. According to the prosecutor's office, the employees of the “Nutrition Center” improperly carried out their official duties, they did not take timely measures to suppress the provision of services that did not meet the requirements of sanitary legislation.
