MOSCOW, 11 Mar – RIA Novosti. The chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to report to him on the situation with the inspector in Buryatia, who detained the poachers, according to the agency's website.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Far East Yuri Trutnev instructed the Ministry of Natural Resources and the leadership of Buryatia to take control of the situation with the initiation of a criminal case against the inspector of the Baikalsky Reserve who detained the poachers. In the release, the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister referred to media reports that inspector Sergei Krasikov detained five poachers red-handed, in whose car the carcasses of two illegally caught roe deer were found. During the arrest, the inspector was hit by a poacher's car – he had a broken arm and a concussion, but, according to media reports, he became a defendant in a criminal case for abuse of power.
“In connection with the collective appeal to the chairman of the Investigative Committee concerning the investigation of the criminal case against the inspector of the reserve in Buryatia, Alexander Bastrykin demanded from his subordinates a detailed report on the complex of investigative actions carried out in the case,” the RF IC said in a statement.
It is noted that earlier the investigation was completed in relation to the defendants in the case of illegal hunting in the Altacheysky reserve; during the investigation, the participants in the criminal process filed counter statements about the commission of crimes during detention in the forest. Bastrykin instructed to thoroughly understand all the circumstances of the incident, the course of the investigation of criminal cases was put under control in the central office of the department.
According to the information on the website of the Baikal State Natural Biosphere Reserve, since March 3, 2011, the management of the Altacheisky reserve is carried out by the Baikal State Reserve.
