WASHINGTON, 9 Mar – RIA Novosti. The State Department has not commented on the concerns of congressmen over Nord Stream 2, but is ready to discuss the situation with them, State Department spokesman Ned Price said.
“We are generally not commenting on the conversation with Capitol Hill. We can say that the administration is focused on the same effort to prevent the completion of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline,” Price said at a briefing, in response to a request for comment on a letter from the congressional group to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
Blinken will have the opportunity to discuss this with Congressmen on Wednesday when he testifies in the House of Representatives, he said.
The authors of the document stated that the statements of the American administration against the gas pipeline are not supported and do not correspond to the real actions of the authorities.
Congressmen cite a list of 15 courts and a number of companies against which US sanctions have not been imposed, and urge that possible action against them be considered as soon as possible.
