MOSCOW, March 10 – RIA Novosti. The Ministry of Labor proposed to index social pensions by 3.4% from April 1. The draft resolution has been published on the federal portal of draft legal acts.
“In accordance with Article 25 of the Federal Law of December 15, 2001 No. 166-FZ” On State Pension Provision in Russia “, from April 1, 2021, the indexation of social pensions should be carried out taking into account the growth rate of the pensioner's subsistence minimum (hereinafter referred to as the PMP) in Russia for the past 2020 “, – stated in the explanatory note.
Based on the data on the size of the subsistence minimum for a pensioner for 2020 (9308 rubles) and for 2019 (9002 rubles), the growth rate of PMP in 2020 in Russia was 103.4%, the Ministry of Labor noted.
As the press service of the department told reporters, by the end of the year 12.8 billion rubles will be allocated from the budget for the indexation of social benefits.
“In total, the indexation will affect 3.9 million citizens – these are recipients of social pensions and pensions for state pensions,” the message says.
Social pension is received by citizens who, due to various circumstances, do not have sufficient work experience for an insurance pension. After indexation, the average social pension will be 10,183 rubles.
As added in the Ministry of Labor, the Russians, whose social pension is less than the regional PMP, receive social benefits, increasing the pension provision to this level.
