MOSCOW, March 10 – RIA Novosti. The only foreign money transfer service, MoneyGram, entered in the register of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, has ceased to work directly with clients from Russia, follows from the message on the service website and call center information.
The MoneyGram website says that from March 1, cash transfers are available only in the branches of partner banks of the Zolotaya Korona payment system, and the call center of the RIA Novosti service reported that it is now impossible to send money abroad.
“From March 1, 2021, receiving money transfers in cash in Russia will be available only in the branches of partner banks of the Zolotaya Korona payment system,” says a message on the MoneyGram website.
An employee of the international call center of the service said that it is now impossible to send money transfers from the Russian Federation. “There are no transactions sent from Russia. But we can accept transfers,” he said.
The American service of international money transfers MoneyGram became the first company in the Russian Federation included in the register of foreign payment system operators. Such companies were obliged to have a representative office or branch in the Russian Federation, and the Central Bank received the right to request and receive documents and other necessary data from a representative of a foreign payment system operator.
