US accused Russia of spreading misinformation about vaccines

WASHINGTON, 8 Mar – RIA Novosti. The United States accused Russian intelligence of spreading misinformation about coronavirus vaccines.

“We can confirm that the Global Interaction Center (under the State Department) identified four Russian online platforms that were operated by Russian intelligence services and disseminated disinformation. These sites included disinformation about two vaccines approved in our country (by the medical regulator) FDA.” State Department spokesman Ned Price said at the briefing.

“It is clear that Russia is back to its old tricks and thereby potentially endangering people's lives by spreading misinformation about vaccines that we know are saving lives … As we know, the Russians have been involved for some time.” Price said, without citing evidence or naming online platforms that the US has suspected of spreading misinformation.
