MOSCOW, March 9 – RIA Novosti. Russia in 2020 became the record holder for food exports, RBC said with reference to the federal center “Agroexport” of the Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the ministry, last year Russian exporters exported 79 million tons of agricultural products for a total of $ 30.7 billion – 20 percent more than in 2019.
Thus, for the first time in the post-Soviet history, the country earned more on the export of agricultural products than it spent on imports.
Agroexport clarified that 150 countries purchased Russian food. China remains the largest importer, accounting for 13 percent of all shipments. It is followed by Turkey with 10 percent of purchases, followed by Kazakhstan with almost 7 percent.
