Investigative Committee opened a case after poisoning children in Makhachkala

MAKHACHKALA, March 9 – RIA Novosti. Investigators have opened a criminal case on the fact of mass poisoning of children in Makhachkala, the press service of the SUSK RF for Dagestan reports.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health of the republic said that 24 people, among them 22 children, had applied to Makhachkala hospitals with signs of poisoning. The SK specified that 49 people were admitted to the Republican Dermatovenerologic Dispensary, including 27 children with symptoms of acute intestinal infection.

“The Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Dagestan, according to a message spread in the media about food poisoning of children in the city of Makhachkala, has initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements of life or health safety consumers) “, – the message says.

The SUSK added that at present, a complex of investigative actions is being carried out in the case, aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident, as well as the focus of infection.

On behalf of Anatoly Shchurov, the head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Dagestan, the criminal case for organizing an investigation was transferred to the third department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the Investigative Directorate.
