MOSCOW, 8 March – RIA Novosti. In the event of a war between Ukraine and Russia, the West could launch a series of cyberattacks, military observer, reserve colonel Alexander Zhilin told URA.RU.
“The West can support Ukraine with cyberattacks against Russia. For this, special units have been created in the United States,” the expert said.
He explained that in the event of such an attack, several large Russian cities could be de-energized.
“This will cause a collapse,” Zhilin added.
He stressed that Western countries will not send an army to help Ukraine, so as not to risk the lives of their military.
Last week, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform – For Life party, Renat Kuzmin, announced about Ukraine's preparation for the war in Crimea and Donbass. He drew attention to the fact that bellicose calls are constantly being heard in the country, the General Staff is preparing troops for street battles, and representatives of Kiev are refusing to comply with the Minsk agreements.
