Trump bans Republicans from using his name for fundraising

MOSCOW, 6 Mar – RIA Novosti. Former US President Donald Trump has demanded that the three largest organizations of the Republican Party stop using his name for fundraising, Politico reported, citing an adviser to the former American leader.

According to him, Trump's lawyers sent out relevant letters on Friday. The addressees were the Republican National Committee (RNC), the Republican National House of Representatives Committee (NRCC) and the Republican National Senate Committee (NRSC).

According to the publication, Trump “went into a rage over the fact that his name was used without his permission by organizations that help Republicans who voted to impeach him.”

An adviser to the former president explained that Trump “remains committed to the Republican Party,” but “it does not give anyone” the right to use his image without permission.

On January 6, supporters of Trump, then the current president of the United States, stormed the Capitol after a rally in Washington, and Congress was interrupted for several hours. As a result of the riots, a demonstrator and a policeman were killed, and three more died from causes unrelated to violence. After law enforcement authorities removed the rioters from the congressional building, congressmen approved the victory of Democrat Joe Biden in the presidential election. The House of Representatives impeached Trump on charges of inciting mutiny, but the Senate acquitted Trump.
