KHABAROVSK, 6 Mar – RIA Novosti. The total area of contamination after the descent of cars in the Khabarovsk Territory on the Far Eastern Railway is estimated at 400 square meters, said the head of Rosprirodnadzor Svetlana Radionova.
Earlier, a representative of the regional emergency services told RIA Novosti that on Saturday night in the Khabarovsk Territory, 18 oil tanks derailed, 10 of them capsized, there were no injuries, three trains were delayed. According to him, each overturned tank contains from 61 to 67 tons of fuel.

Employees of Russian Railways are removing the damaged roadway – about 400 meters. 43 people were involved in the liquidation of the accident. “The situation is under my control,” added the head of the department.
The Far Eastern Railways website reports that the movement of trains on the railway has been restored. It is also noted that a drip leak of oil products was found in four tanks, the railway workers localized the spill. Environmentalists of the Far Eastern Railway and the Ekospas Center are working at the scene. There is no threat of the spread of oil products, the railroad workers reported.
“An administrative investigation has been initiated against Russian Railways. Our inspectors, together with specialists from TsLATI (Center for Laboratory Analysis and Technical Measurements), the environmental prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Khabarovsk Territory, are investigating the situation,” Rodionova said.
