BLAGOVESCHENSK, 7 Mar – RIA Novosti. The consequences of an oil spill in the Oktyabrsky District of the Amur Region at the ESPO-2 pipeline station have been eliminated, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Amur Region told RIA Novosti.
“The consequences of the spill have been eliminated,” the press service told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the department reported that the spill occurred on the territory of an oil refinery, the leak was found from the connection of the siphon valve in the tank frame. All released oil is contained within the perimeter of a special sealed embankment zone. The incident did not affect the operation of the second stage of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline.
According to the prosecutor's office of the Amur region, which is conducting an inspection, the leakage of oil products occurred “as a result of depressurization of valves.”
