MOSCOW, 5 March – RIA Novosti. For the first time since January 8, 2020, the price of Brent crude oil rose above $ 69 per barrel at the auction.
As of 17:41 Moscow time, May futures for the North Sea mixture grew by 3.28% – up to $ 68.92, minutes earlier they rose above $ 69 per barrel.
The cost of April futures on WTI increased by 3.1% to $ 65.81 per barrel.
Oil quotes are growing for the third trading session in a row, on the eve of raw materials rose in price by more than four percent on the news from OPEC +. The alliance decided not to increase production in April, while analysts expected a total increase of half a million barrels per day.
Against the backdrop of rising oil prices, the Russian currency is also strengthening. On the Moscow Stock Exchange, the dollar exchange rate by “tomorrow” settlements at 17:02 Moscow time decreased by 33 kopecks, to 74.37 rubles, the euro rate – by 78 kopecks, to 88.66 rubles.
