Twice as many Russians as Britons receive both doses of COVID vaccine

MOSCOW, 5 March – RIA Novosti. Twice as many Russians than Britons received full immunization against coronavirus, that is, both injections of the vaccine, RDIF head Kirill Dmitriev said in an interview with CNN.

So he commented on the opinion that the UK is the leader in mass vaccination. “And this is so, but between the first and second vaccinations, they should have three months, and we have only three weeks,” – explained the head of the Fund.

He noted that “vaccination in Russia is going very well, and people just need to know the numbers.”

Dmitriev expects that by June, about 40 million of the country's citizens will be grafted with Sputnik V. He stressed that confidence in the drug is growing, since it has no side effects and does not provoke allergies.

As Vladimir Putin said on the eve, about two million Russians have already received both doses of the vaccine, almost the same – one dose.

As of the end of February, the first vaccine preparations in the UK were administered to 16 million residents of the Kingdom. They use the American-German vaccine Pfizer and the British AstraZeneca, and the American Moderna has also added to the list of approved drugs.
