MOSCOW, 4 Mar – RIA Novosti. Prices for eggs and poultry meat are likely to decline between April and May, said Sergei Lakhtyukhov, director general of the National Union of Poultry Breeders, on the Russia 24 TV channel.
“We reckon on the factors that we see now that by April, or rather in April-May, production volumes will stabilize, and not only will stabilize, but will begin to grow,” he said.
According to Lakhtyukhov's forecast, in the spring the market will begin to saturate and the Russians will also be able to see a decrease in prices for these products.
According to Rosstat, egg prices in Russia rose from early September to early January. In January, their value declined, but in February began to rise again. Chicken prices have been growing since the end of September.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the full restoration of the production of poultry and eggs in Russia will take place by May. This, according to the ministry, will help stabilize prices in the market.
