MOSCOW, 4 Mar – RIA Novosti. Leading employee of the Phobos weather center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, warned residents of Central Russia on Instagram about the danger of strong fluctuations in atmospheric pressure.
“Muscovites will be hit with a baric hammer. Such significant changes in atmospheric pressure, by more than seven to ten units per day, <...> will have the most negative effect on the well-being of not only meteorological patients, but also healthy people,” he wrote.
According to the forecaster, in the next few days there will be several sharp rises in atmospheric pressure, which will alternate with drops “to the baric bottom.”
“That is, almost every day we will rapidly” plunge “into a mine with a depth of more than 100 meters, and then abruptly rise to the level of the capital's skyscrapers,” he added.
Tishkovets believes that the drops are caused by a series of North Atlantic cyclones, which will provoke a rapid change of warm and cold air masses.
