MOSCOW, 5 March – RIA Novosti. Repeatedly convicted man with HIV infection was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Tula region for the rape of his friend, as well as the rape and murder with particular cruelty of a 13-year-old girl and for a number of other crimes, Svetlana Petrenko, an official representative of the RF IC, told reporters.
“The evidence … was recognized by the court as sufficient for sentencing a previously repeatedly convicted resident of the Tula region … The court sentenced him to life imprisonment. He will serve the punishment in a special regime colony,” the message says.
It is noted that the man was found guilty of committing two rapes, endangering HIV infection, committing acts of a sexual nature, kidnapping, deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm and murder with particular cruelty.
The investigation and the court established that in June 2020, the accused, the day after his release from prison, abused his friend and raped her. It is emphasized that because of his threats, the victim did not turn to law enforcement officers.
In addition, on June 25, 2020, he abducted a 13-year-old girl from the district house of culture and took her to the forest. There, the accused reportedly beat and raped a child severely. Later, in order to cover up the crime, the man stabbed her to death with a knife.
It is noted that in the course of the investigation, 18 examinations were carried out, including molecular-genetic, complex sex-psychiatric, medical commissions, identification was carried out, more than 100 witnesses were interrogated. It is added that the investigators also checked the versions about the involvement of the accused in other crimes.
