MOSCOW, March 3 – RIA Novosti. The Russian government has nominated former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl to the board of directors of Rosneft, according to a decree published on its website.
Kneissl was offered to be elected as an independent director. She appears on the list of candidates from the Russian government without specifying her position. From 2017 to 2019, Kneissl headed the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also received her Juris Doctor degree. Kneissl is not a member of the company's current board of directors.
In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, presidential aide Maxim Oreshkin, head of Rosneft Igor Sechin were nominated for election as representatives of Russia to the board of directors and the audit commission of Rosneft. As independent directors – the executive director of Nord Stream 2 AG Matthias Warnig, the chairman of the board of Marcuard Holding Limited Hans-Jörg Rudloff, the chairman of the shareholders committee of Nord Stream AG Gerard Schroeder. All of them are current members of the Rosneft board of directors.
