MOSCOW, March 2 – RIA Novosti. The Investigative Committee asks the Moscow City Court to release from custody the ex-director of the Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Stavropol branch in Mineralnye Vody, Guzer Khashukaev, the press service of the court told RIA Novosti.
Khashukaev was arrested more than two years ago in the case of ex-senator Rauf Arashukov and his father Raul.
“The court received a petition from the investigator to change the preventive measure in the form of detention,” said the agency's interlocutor.
He added that Khashukaev, who is charged under part 4 of Article 160 (misappropriation or embezzlement), was last extended the term of his stay in the pre-trial detention center until April 24, but he could not explain what the investigation's request was related to.
The investigation believes that Raul Arashukov, as the head of the criminal community, ordered, and his son Rauf, as a member of the organized criminal group, organized the murders of the deputy chairman of the Adege-Hese youth movement Aslan Zhukov and adviser to the President of Karachay-Cherkessia Fral Shebzukhov. They do not admit their guilt. The ex-senator from the KCR was also charged with two episodes of abuse of power and a false denunciation. Both Arashukovs have been in custody for over two years.
