Ex-deputy head of the Ministry of Defense was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for fraud

MOSCOW, March 2 – RIA Novosti. Former deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry's department for competitive procedures, Alexander Boruvkov, was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for fraud with state contracts worth 650 million rubles and a bribe of 368 million rubles, the RF IC reported on Tuesday.

“By the decision of the Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow, Boruvkov, taking into account mitigating circumstances – a full admission of guilt, exposure of other accomplices, partial compensation for damage caused to the state and the presence of young children, was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 6.5 years with serving in a strict regime colony and a fine in the amount of 368 million rubles.
