MOSCOW, March 1 – RIA Novosti. Frequent alternation of warm and cold weather, as well as periods of no precipitation and with precipitation, are expected in March throughout Russia, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told RIA Novosti.
“Throughout the country, the month is expected to be heterogeneous with frequent alternations of warm and cold episodes, with frequent alternations of dry periods and periods of precipitation in different forms. In the Asian territory, precipitation will be mainly in the form of snow, in the European territory in all three phases … The temperature background is predicted, mainly around the norm, “- said the forecaster.
Temperatures below normal are expected only in a small part of the north of the Urals, the north of Western Siberia, as well as the northeast of the European part of Russia and the north of Central Siberia. In the rest of the territory, it will be around the norm.
“The most important thing is that this norm in March is the average for the hospital … Let this norm do not make you think about calmness, this is a very heterogeneous month, with a large number of changes in weather elements,” Vilfand warned at the same time.
The meteorologist specified that the temperature is expected to be slightly above normal in the Altai Territory.
“The Volga region, the Southern Urals, the south of Western Siberia (Omsk, Novosibirsk and Altai Territories) are predicted to have excess precipitation,” added Vilfand, adding that similar weather is expected in the North-West of European Russia up to the Moscow region.
Heavy precipitation is also expected in Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory, in the south of the Irkutsk Region and in Chukotka. In Siberia, on the contrary, there will be a deficit of precipitation.
Wilfand also said that abnormal heat will remain in the European part of Russia this week. In the next five days, the temperature will be above normal by two to five degrees. In the Volga region, the Urals, Western Siberia, according to him, the temperature is expected to be around normal, in the south of the Novosibirsk region, the Altai Territory – four to six degrees above the norm, and in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in the west of Yakutia – 8-12 degrees below the norm …
At the same time, by the weekend, the temperature in European Russia will drop to abnormally low levels. “Already at night temperatures will be negative, daytime temperatures are also about zero,” said the forecaster.
