Gorbachev called on the whole world to tackle the nuclear problem

MOSCOW, March 1 – RIA Novosti. Former President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev is convinced that now it is necessary “to tackle the nuclear problem with the whole world,” and advocates the confirmation of their formula with Ronald Reagan on the inadmissibility of nuclear war.

In an interview with RIA Novosti on the eve of his 90th birthday, the former Soviet leader called the present time “responsible and very difficult.” Nevertheless, as Gorbachev emphasized, “you cannot fall into hopelessness.”

“We must believe. And act. First, the whole world to tackle the nuclear problem. I noticed that Russia has proposed to all nuclear powers to reaffirm the formula:“ nuclear war is unacceptable, there can be no winner in it. ”I am all for it, especially that Ronald Reagan and I jointly stated this at our very first meeting in 1985. And as a result, the process of nuclear disarmament began, although it was not easy, “said the ex-president of the USSR.

He expressed confidence that similar cooperation is possible in many other areas of life.
