MOSCOW, March 1 – RIA Novosti. Former head of the Russian Pension Fund Maxim Topilin has been appointed senior advisor to the general director of Russian Railways, the company told RIA Novosti.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin dismissed Maxim Topilin from the post of head of the PFR in February this year. Andrey Kigim, who previously headed the Social Insurance Fund, has been appointed the new head of the fund. A number of media outlets wrote to sources that Topilin would go to Russian Railways.
Topilin in 1994-2001 worked in the government apparatus. In July 2001, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development, and from March 2004 to July 2008, he headed the Federal Service for Labor and Employment.
In the government of Dmitry Medvedev from May 2012 to January last year, he was the Minister of Labor and Social Development, after which he headed the board of the Pension Fund.
