MOSCOW, March 1 – RIA Novosti. The law on punishment for malicious violations of the procedure for the activities of individuals and foreign agent organizations came into force in Russia, offenders will face punishment up to 5 years in prison.
Corresponding changes have been made to Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the sanction of which now provides for the prosecution of foreign agents who, after imposing an administrative penalty, continue to violate the rules established by law.
In particular, for failure to provide documents for inclusion in the relevant register of NPO-foreign agents, an individual or organization faces a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles, either in the amount of salary or other income for a period of up to two years, or compulsory work up to 480 hours, or correctional labor up to two years, or imprisonment for the same period.
Similar sanctions can be applied for violation of the procedure for the activities of a foreign media-foreign agent, if he was previously punished for the same violation under the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.
In addition, for malicious evasion from the provision of documents that are necessary for resolving the issue of including them in the relevant register, NPOs and individuals-foreign agents working in Russia in the interests of a foreign state, its state bodies, an international or foreign organization, foreign citizens, persons without citizenship purposeful collection of information in the field of military, military-technical activities of the Russian Federation, the receipt of which by these entities can be used against the security of the Russian Federation, will face a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles or in the amount of the convict's salary or other income for a period of up to two years, or compulsory work for up to 480 hours, or forced labor for up to five years, or imprisonment for the same period.
