ROSTOV-ON-DON, 28 Feb – RIA Novosti, Julia Nasulina. A half-naked driver of a foreign car, who was in an inadequate condition, knocked down two people at a pedestrian crossing in Astrakhan and crashed into another car, a source in the region's law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti.
According to the agency's interlocutor, the accident occurred on Sunday morning on Admiralteyskaya Street.
“The driver of a Toyota Camry, born in 1994, ran into two pedestrians crossing the road on an unregulated crossing. Then he collided with a Hyundai Solaris, which was thrown onto a power line pole from the impact,” the source said.
He noted that a woman-pedestrian born in 1983 received a head injury and a fracture of the lower leg, her husband, born in 1977, received a head injury and a fracture of the pelvic bones, and the driver of a second foreign car received bruises and abrasions.
According to the source, the perpetrator of the accident had signs of alcoholic intoxication and behaved inadequately; he refused to undergo a medical examination. “He was partially without clothes and resisted the arriving policemen,” the agency's source said.
A number of media outlets reported that the son of a local deputy was allegedly driving the foreign car, and among the victims were a military prosecutor and his wife.
